About us

Almond Riding Club of West Lothian is affiliated to the  BHS Riding Clubs  - Area 1  which covers Southern Scotland from East to West coast and Borders. We currently have over 130 members and are one of the few remaining clubs in Area 1 who still cater for Junior members.  Based in West Lothian the club holds regular competitions and training days at the Scottish National Equestrian Centre (SNEC) for winter events and outdoors at Fieldings Equestrian Centre, Whitburn, in the summer.

Group of horsesWe cater for all levels of ability. Our members range from new, first horse owners looking for friendly social meetings and informal competitions to those also out competing at affiliated level in their chosen disciplines as BD, BE and BSJA members.  Giving everyone the chance to meet other horse owners in the area, to make new friends, get encouragement and support to help enjoy their horses.

We field successful teams and individuals at Area 1 qualifiers in all disciplines and have been well placed in the ribbons at each event in 2008. Over the last 10 years Almond RC are proud to have regularly represented Area 1 at the annual British Riding Club Championships now held in Lincoln.  An Almond RC Dressage team was 6th at BRC National Championships Lincoln in 2008. We also competed at the Winter Indoor championship showjumping finals at Hartpury college in 2009.

Almond RC are always looking to welcome new members who are keen to join the club and willing to help out at club events.
